GAMEPLAY

Mist is an open-world, Action Role Playing Game with a dynamic combat style that is unique in the world of MMOs.

The game contains core fighting and questing mechanics with a large influence from the Action RPG genre. The massive multiplayer world, and in-game player interactions are developed with main MMO systems in mind.

Whether you love completing quests, raiding, player-versus player battles, or just exploring a world full of possibilities, Mist has you covered. Questing and raiding are fun, but has you covered. Questing and raiding are fun, but there's nothing quite like defeating another player in a contest of pure skill. PvP in MMOs is a time-honored tradition that remains pursuit for those with the iron will to master the mechanics of a game.

Mist honors the devotion of players by employing awesome combat systems that go above and beyond the basics, offering competitive-minded players a rewarding place to test their mettle.

Mist offers five playable classes with unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses:

Crusader: Crusaders are tenacious warriors sworn to service in exchange for a share of their god's celestial power. Armed with devastating melee weapons and an unshakable conviction, Crusaders charge fearlessly into battle with the knowledge that in death their valor will be greatly rewarded.

Enchanter: Enchanters are gifted with natural psychic abilities and powerful, analytical minds. With dedication to honing their practice, they can be capable allies or deadly foes. Enchanters harness an impressive inventory of spells and illusions to manipulate the very fabric of reality and outsmart their opposition.

Ranger: Rangers are skilled at harnessing the power of earthly divinity to manipulate the forces of nature. Rangers are never without their faithful mysterious canine companions. These adept martial artists are experts at master new weapons and fighting styles, frequently changing their tactics tomatch their opponents in combat.

Shapeshifter: Taking the form of cunning natural predators and unexpected critters alike, above all else, Shapeshifters are masters of gaining the upper hand in any situation. Shapeshifters use forceful multi-target attacks and savage melee abilities to dominate the battlefield.

Witch Hunter: Witch Hunters are trained to track and destroy evil with chilling accuracy and relentless cruelty Obsessed with eradication of the unnatural, these merciless assassins let nothing stand between them and their prey Witch Hunters go to great lengths to learn how to use their opponent's abilities against them, combining powerful ranged attacks with artful defensive spells to ward off enemies.

Mist is a fast paced action RPG. The players will need to constantly move during combats. WASD controls (controller support in the works), with a lot of jumping and dodging to avoid incoming projectiles/spells. However, outside the neutral zones, the players can relax and RP under the protection of the city guards.

There will be in-game emotes where players celebrate their victory through various dances and moves (and even one-or-two rude gestures.) Players can form guilds and parties while traveling the world. It will be wise for them to do so, since the overall game feel will depend on surviving various dangers that lie within the mist!

There will be a minimal amount of instancing when joining private areas, dungeons, battlegrounds, etc. Players will be able to explore the game world freely without loading-screen interruptions.

Yes. Between the guilds, players can trade and battle in order to gain tokens and strike deals. We have a team of writers working on coherently implementing the joinable guilds and factions to the Mist universe.

The way we are implementing the guild system is different from MMORPGs like WoW where a guild is just a large party. Initially, we are looking to use certain pre-made guilds that are associated with certain story elements. In the future, we will be providing the functionality for players to create their own guilds.

As the Mist team evolves we are finding more innovative ways of handling a larger map size. For start, we are looking to follow a map size that is half of WoW (from its classic days of course). However, our team now has devs with expertise on procedural generation.

We will start posting gameplay videos soon. The dev team is hard at work right now. Lead developer, Scythe, will be sharing development updates via YouTube and even screen-share via our Discord. We are very passionate about our game and the community. We would love to be able to more closely interact with our community. Stay tuned!

Yes, controller support functionality will be implemented into the game.

TOKENS

The MIST token will be used as the in-game currency. All in-game transactions will be related to this token including item purchases. Each in-game region items have varying prices and the economy will be managed by a finite amount of tokens.

You can find details on MIST allocation in the tokenomics section of our whitepaper.

As of 04/17/2021, the total circulating supply is 47M tokens. The market cap on CoinGecko and other websites has not been properly updated. Total supply is 1B tokens.

You can view MIST charts and price on CoinGecko.

Yes - Play To Earn! The in-game token is obtained in various ways:

• Killing monsters
• Completing quests
• Selling items in-game
• Selling NFTs in-game
• Farming in-game (through buying in-game farm real estate)
• Staking in-game (through buying in-game businesses)
• Farming outside the game (on our website or partners' websites)
• Staking outside the game(on our website or partners' websites)
• Buying on an exchange and sending to your in-game character

Our aim is to introduce a self-governing ecosystem that utilizes high-level optimization through principles of artificial intelligence. The Mist framework includes AI agents that regulate the prices of each item, loot, mineral, and crafting material for specific in-game regions.

Earned or purchased MIST tokens will be received from the main pool. When items are purchased, the tokens will be transferred back into the pool.

For example: You sell your sword to a Merchant.
1) You receive MIST tokens in return which will come directly from the pool
2) Because the Merchant now has more swords in inventory, the sword price is recalculated and optimized through the game's framework.

NFTs in your wallet are going to be used to instantiate in-game items, as well as player skins, mounts, etc.

You can use this video for help on how to add BSC to your MetaMask wallet. Doing this will allow you to purchase MIST tokens. For now, MIST tokens can be purchased via Pancake Swap.

Tokens can be exchanged via the Binance Smart Chain on PancakeSwap.

You can watch this video as a guide to purchase MIST.

MIST tokens can be staked on CafeSwap. Staking on other platforms and even in-game staking will come in the future.

For more information on how to stake you can use this video.
Farming Pool
Deposit MIST-BNB -> Earn $BREW
Staking Pool
Deposit $BREW -> Earn $MIST

The MIST token is connected to and synchronized with the Binance Smart Chain. As such, it can be easily, quickly, and cheaply sent from one wallet to another on the network. It can also be sent into and out of the Mist universe.

NFTs

NFTs can be bought or sold in the in-game auction houses in main cities. Here, you can either buy or sell your NFTs (for the in-game currency and MIST native token).

NFTs such as epic weapons, fast mounts, and in-game pets can be found, farmed and collected. These NFTs serve as funtional in-game items which can be sold in-game or 3rd party exchanges.

Both! The NFT tokens in Mist are extremely dynamic, useful, and functional in the in-game universe. While many NFTs currently in the crypto space are strictly collectibles or "artwork", the NFTs in the Mist NFT Framework serve multiple uses.

The NFTs in Mist are much more than just collectibles - while they do look cool, they are also fully functional and beneficial to your character in-game.

Some NFTs are strong weapons that increase your attack damage or add special effects to your attacks. Other NFTs are defensive or wearable items that protect your character in specials ways. Some are things like in-game pets that follow you around, or mounts that your character can ride to increase their movement speed.

Yes, characters can train a few skills and create in-game items such as swords, bows, and armor. In order to do this, they need raw materials such as wood and ore.

These raw materials can be obtained throught the in-game world, and characters will train specific skills (such as mining, woodcutting, etc.) in order to collect these materials. Each material, when obtained, is linked to a custom BEP-20 token.

For example, each time a character mines ore int he game, they are rewarded with an "ore" BEP-20 token. These tokens can be bought and sold on exchanges, or exchanged with other players in-game.

Whenever these raw materials are used to create armor or train skills, the in-game items is consumed, and the BEP-20 token associated with the material is sent to the burn address.

Dropped/earned items will be fully visible in the world as seen in the picture below. Colors will be used to indicate the quality level of each item.

GAME FRAMEWORK

Arguably, the most important part of Unity is the ease of use. It allows us to synchronize game builds and code through Unity Teams Collaborate module. This is particularly important when working with an international team of developers trying to synchronize their progress despite working in different timezones. Unity's native language, C#, allows us to develop the network communication protocols necessary for Mist NFT Framework using a very powerful application framework library, .NET.

As opposed to Unreal engine, which inherently uses C++ or Blueprints, C# is a component-oriented programming language. By treating the in-game objects as components and in-game systems (such as inventory, spell, quest log, etc.) as behaviors, it allows us to really create something unique and coherent with the systems that exist in the real world.

The Mist framework aims to allow game developers to create and deploy multiplayer ARPGs that include systems such as:

• Inventory system that connects to BSC
• Ability system
• Quest system
• Zone system
• Weapon system
• Adjustable UI / SFX system
• NPS system
• Alignment system

Of course, all developed in a way that allows users to just drag and drop these scrips into the editor scene, without wiring a single line of code. This is made possible througha very intricate of polymorphisms and programming abstraction.

We are very much aware of the strengths and weaknesses of developing a framework that connects to BSC using C#. In order to provide seamless blockchain connectivity, our framework consists of a Python SDK that runs on the server-side, allowing transactions to be router into Binance Smart Chain with each user's account information securely forwarded to the smart contracts responsible for farming, mining and NFT rewards.

This is yet to be decided. We will keep the community on posted on updates.

We are aware of the challenges this may pose. This is why while developing our Mist Framework, we are making sure that nothing we do is going to become a breaking dependency for other chains. Scythe has presented our team with an approach that can provide us with in-game, multi-chain connectivity. However, we would like to let this cook a little more before we start talking about it. Stay tuned.

MIST TEAM

We would really like to be able to use our own names on Mist. It is still an on-going discussion with the team to reveal ourselves, however some members of our team are in situations where their daily lives could get interrupted if their names become public. We would like to keep all focus on the game and the product, and doxing may distract from that. We wish we could promise more than that, it’s just how we have to operate for now. You can follow the lead developer by their alias: Scythe

About a year now, Mist (originally under a different name) started as a passion project. The team has become very large now with developers from many countries. As a handful of developers, the team was keeping out on cool systems that could be developed using the accumulated expertise gained as AI engineers/researchers, and game developers. The idea of joining the blockchain community came while the team was working on setting up a simple chain that can connect in-game components (behaviors) in a more efficient way.

Lead developer Scythe, has a background in academia for artificial intelligence and robotics research and have been an indie developer for the last 5 years with a few games published from different genres. The rest of the Mist team has experience in different parts of the industry from network systems to the crypto space.

We can confidently say that you may have played some of the games that our team members were involved in one way or another.

Our team size is currently in double digits, and includes developers for smart contracts, game developers, graphics designers, content team, marketing team, and more.

ANOTHER QUESTIONS

Current plans is to make a closed beta available for play in Q3 2021. The full release is yet to be announced.

Development team is expanding and larger ideas are starting to flow in. On top of this, we had a complete re-branding of the project since working with KickPad. The version of the whitepaper you are talking about is made with our older timeline in mind. We will continue to keep everyone posted on future updates.

There will be a requirement based on minimum amount holding. In addition to that, early investors, influences and partners will have access as well. A detailed description of requirements will be published as we near the closed beta.

Initially, Mist will be available through Steam. However, we are making sure that our framework is not dependent on Steamworks. Thanks to this, we are going to be able to launch on other platforms as well.

Currently, the game reaches stable 60 FPS with 1440p res on a mid-tier rig. However, as we get closer to launch and more systems are added we are going to need to optimize. I will keep you posted on this through the dev logs. It is a bit early to answer which hardware specifically is minimally supported.

Mist will be playable on many UNIX platforms including macOS and Ubuntu as time goes by. The Unity engine allows us to deploy to macOS easily. However, we cannot promise that our demo will run on macOS, there are a couple optimization issues we need to take care of.

Our marketing team will make our store page public very soon. We will keep you posted!

We will occasionally be sharing development updates via YouTube and even screen-share via our Discord as we want to have a close community interaction. More AMAs will come in the future as well, but for now our development focus is being put towards the game.

We allocate the responsibility of handling chats to our CMs. They keep track of the chat and oversee everything. They also forward your questions to us so that we can more effectively communicate with each community member.

This is yet to be decided. We will keep the community on updates.
